New Army Body Fat Calculation

Below is the Townhall Meeting with the SMA about the upcoming changes to the New Army Body Fat calculation. The meeting happen on 9  March 2023

Highlights

• New one measurement calculations for both male & female.
  • Calculations:
    • Males:         (-26.97-(0.12 x weight) + (1.99 x Ab Circumference))
    • Females:     (-9.15-(0.015 x weight) + (1.27 x Ab Circumference)) 
  • At this point I’m assuming the the weight is in pounds & Ab circumference is in inches. When I did the calculations for myself I used pounds & inches.
• Army Directive will attentively be sign within 2 week of this Townhall Meeting,
• No tables & charts yet until the Directives are signed.
• Tape exemption for ACFT Score above 540 with a Miniman of 80pts on each event.

I feel everyone should take the opportunity & watch this townhall meeting. I believe there are still lots of questions that need to answered. But learning & understanding the new calculations know can help get your Soldiers & yourself ready for what’s coming. Below are some of the slide used in the presentation.
